Schenectady Community Compost Project

During International Compost Awareness Week 2023, the Schenectady Community Compost Project was launched!

Community Compost Registration

We have reached capacity at our Community Compost Station!
What does this mean?
In the last year and a half, we have diverted over 4,000lbs of food scraps from over 60 households!
While we work to compost those food scraps, we have made the decision to close registration down to new households for the next few months to:

(1) allow our compost to cook and open up more space in our bins, (2) take a break from expanding our rapidly growing program, and (3) secure funding for expanding this program to serve even more households in the future!

We release a monthly newsletter and will announce the re-opening of our Community Compost registration there and on our socials when the time comes, so be sure to subscribe on our website!
