Raising a happy, healthy child is no easy task. Just ask any parent!
Healthy Schenectady Families (HSF) is a free and voluntary home visiting program for pregnant families and families with newborn infants living in the County of Schenectady. The benefits of Healthy Families™ programs nationwide are proven, significant, and impact a wide range of child and family outcomes.
HSF promotes a healthy, safe, and supportive community comprised of strong families and individuals working together to provide a foundation for healthy development that will last a lifetime. Highly trained Family Support Specialists provide information and activities to enhance parent-child interactions, family self-sufficiency and promote the positive health, growth, and development of the entire family.
Healthy Schenectady Families is the local Healthy Families New York (HFNY) program that provides evidence-based home visitation services to families in Schenectady County. https://www.healthyfamiliesnewyork.org/
It is nationally accredited by Healthy Families America (HFA). https://www.healthyfamiliesamerica.org/
HSF is managed by Schenectady County Public Health Services with staff members provided through a contract with Cornell Cooperative Extension Services. We have provided educational home visits to families with young children in Schenectady County since 1998.
