Capital Region Youth Climate Summit

undefined

On March 18,2026, the Capital Region Youth Climate Summit will empower high-school aged youth to become climate leaders, now and in their future careers. The Summit will be held at SUNY Schenectady.

Youth will:

  • learn about climate science, local climate impacts, and climate solutions
  • engage in interactive workshops and team-building exercises
  • connect with peers, experts, and organizations who care about climate action

Teams of students will design Climate Action Plans to make positive change specific to their individual schools and communities.

Students will leave with a sense that they have been heard, with greater hope for the future and will feel connected to a wider community that shares their values and concerns.

This event will be structured following the outstanding model established by the Wild Center and described in their Youth Climate Summit Toolkit.
